FULLY BOOKED As part of the programme of events for Uncovering the Tweed, AOC Archaeology Group will be holding a skills training day at Wallace’s Tower, Roxburgh.
The site visit will focus on using records of the site to better understand the historic tower. Volunteers will undertake recording which will include written records, detailed photography and photogrammetry. Weather permitting we will also be doing GPS and UAV survey and laser scanning.
Full training will be given on the day, no experience necessary.
The site is in a rural location involving walking on uneven ground so participants are advised to bring sturdy boots and waterproofs. Details on where to meet in Kelso to carshare to site will be sent out to booked participants nearer the time.
Public toilets are available in Kelso before and after the event but there will be no toilet on site. The site is roughly a 12 minute drive from Kelso.
