The community have worked tirelessly to fundraise and plan the site’s regeneration with the help of over 90 volunteers! The first phase of the transformation introduced several exciting developments:
Construction has officially started on a brand-new £1 million Bunkhouse at the historic Crook Inn site in Tweedsmuir.
Scheduled to open in 2026, the Bunkhouse will provide high-quality, sustainable accommodation for up to 22 guests, catering to walkers, cyclists, and outdoor enthusiasts. Situated just 8 miles from the source of the River Tweed, the Bunkhouse will provide vital accommodation on the route of the River Tweed Trail (launching in 2028), an ideal base for exploring the stunning landscapes of the surrounding area.
Construction on the Bunkhouse is expected to be completed within 10 months, bringing us one step closer to realising the vision for the Crook Inn site as a vibrant destination for locals and visitors alike.
There are lots of exciting developments happening at the Crook Inn, Tweedsmuir including the re-opening of the Wee Crook Cafe!
The café is currently open seven days a week, 10 – 4:30pm.
Serving freshly made dishes for breakfast and lunch daily, alongside delicious sweet treats of course! The café caters to all dietary needs and is dog friendly.
The Wee Crook is a truly special place at the heart of the village providing employment opportunities for local young people, a warm and welcoming meeting place, and hosting arts and music events in a unique venue! It’s a great place to meet up with friends or take a break on the road from Moffat to Edinburgh.
