I used to live in Penicuik and always enjoyed visiting Peebles for a walk along the Tweed. We used to stand on the footbridge and try to see the kingfisher, which we did a few times.
When we decided to get married, we chose Peebles as the location and had the ceremony in Neidpath Castle, which sits on a high point above the river. The reception was further downstream at the hotel in Cardrona.
We have recently retired and moved to Spittal, so we still go for walks along the Tweed – just further downstream!
