Tug of War on the Tweed

Tug of War on the Tweed

Our young family were on holiday just outside Cornhill in the summer of 1986. One evening we were able to go out for an evening drink (Granny to the rescue – she had come with us on holiday!). As we were driving towards Cornhill someone was hitching a lift. We stopped and he hopped on board. As it would happen, he too was going to the pub and we joined him. By the time closing time was approaching I had been talked into partaking in a tug-of-war competition in Coldstream the next day! Alas, there was no fairytale ending but the memory is still there and makes us smile.
