Walking along the Tweed

Walking along the Tweed

We have many memories of family walks along the river.

One I love to remember is of my late grandad Chick Storrie. The river seemed long when I was a little girl, but my grandad would scoop me up and carry me when my legs got tired 🙂

This story was collected at a Tweed Stories event held as part of Berwick Heritage Open Days in September 2026. With thanks to the HODs team and everyone who attended and shared their stories. Find out more about Berwick’s history at www.berwickfriends.org.uk and northumberlandarchives.com/berwick/.
