St Ronan’s Wells Garden Birthday Bash

Join St Ronan’s Wells Garden Volunteers and Connecting Threads for a celebratory Garden Birthday Bash – a family-friendly afternoon of music, crafts, singing, herbal tea-making, fairy house building, and much more. With a plant sale and home baking, there’s something for all ages to enjoy the glorious gardens.

Connecting Threads is delighted to support the birthday bash with live music by Katie’s Music Sessions. Join Katie to learn and sing ‘River Song’, a special song co-written last year with forest school group Gaia Guardians. Katie’s approach invites the audience to open their hearts and voices and get involved with the show, offering a workshop that is alive with both joy and depth.

Local artist Zoe Atherfold will be offering bunting making to decorate the St Ronan’s bath house and add colour and cheer. Plus, you’ll be able to find out more about volunteering at the garden!

Bring a picnic and blanket – all welcome, just turn up on the day!

Katie Forbes is a Scottish songwriter, performer, recording artist and music facilitator providing accessible music projects in the Scottish Borders for young people and adults of all needs and abilities.

Under the name Katie’s Music Sessions, Katie provides music workshops and performances following music therapy practices, with an aim to educate on music skills, benefit wellbeing, and invite connection with the Scottish Borders green spaces where she lives and was raised.

Katie’s Music Sessions are about introducing people to the magic of original live Scottish folk music: culturally unique yet somehow familiar, in the way that stories are passed down through generations, like water running from the mountains to the rivers then being recycled again.
