The festival’s opening day concludes with an evening of music, storytelling and song with singer-songwriter Kirsty Law, Sam Gillespie and Miwa Nagato-Apthorp.
In summer 2024, folksinger Kirsty Law embarked on a creative journey, ‘Meander’, walking the River Tweed from source to sea. On the way she kept a diary, learned about the history of the Tweed Valley, wrote songs and connected with ancient musical material of the places along this body of water.
Kirsty invited communities in for song walks and sessions, on the river banks and even afloat on the water, and performed with amazing local musicians. Now, she gathers all her findings and fragments of inspiration to present a crafted set, showing just how all these ideas are starting to come together…
