As part of Connecting Threads river-wide creative project Being a River, a series of five creative workshops will be held in the Upper Tweed exploring art, water, sensation and connection in and around the riverside at Drumelzier.
Over five Thursday afternoons, explore how the river reflects our experiences through its flow, stillness, turbulence and depth. Using mindfulness, creativity and sensory awareness, spend time by the river creating simple responses inspired by the water and surrounding landscape.
Sessions are based outdoors near Drumelzier, with the Village Hall available in wet weather. A gentle 10-minute walk across grassy fields leads to the riverside location.
Everyone is welcome, with no previous art or wild swimming experience needed. Wild swimming is optional. All materials and equipment are provided, and participation is free.
As the workshops progress, participants will create individual and collaborative artworks using natural materials, fabric, colour and imagination.
The workshops take place on Thursdays from 2.00–4.30pm between August and September and are led by wild swim guide Ingrid Campbell and artist Pippa Sinclair.
